What is a Coach?

A coach is someone to help guide you through the challenges of life. Specifically, the Thrive Guys focus on coaching men who are not achieving their potential. We strive to give men the tools that they need to move from surviving to thriving. Specifically, this involves a wholistic approach which will rigorously examine nutrition, lifestyle, daily habits, movement, and any other practices that are relevant in creating a life worth living. We want to see men cultivate a life that they  are proud of as we partner with them to navigate life's challenges.

A coach's primary function is to advise a client (i.e. our thrive guys) on possible ways to improve performance in every day life. The focus is always on developing tools to handle common problems that befall us. A coach is NOT to be mistaken with a therapist. Therapists primarily function by assisting their clients in understanding their actions through an examination of their past behavior. The therapist can then offer insight to help a client regulate their emotions in an appropriate way. The role of the therapist generally does NOT involve giving clear advice or guidance. That's where we come in. While many of our thrive guys may be excellent candidates for both therapy and coaching, our focus is on what we can do today to make life better. Our advice may range from finding creativity and spiritualityto a very specific diet prescription. Our advice is entirely personalized based on the client and we work to create a deep, trusting bond with each thrive guy.
